Transport us to a happier, sunnier place where we feel free to express a wittier version of our real selves.

Fashion and jewellery designers have gone for a range of colours that refer to the natural world and evoke tranquility and relaxation.

There are also influences in the colours of the urban design and of vegetation. There are also hints of travel in the colour palette. Sometimes these influences appear as unexpected combinations of colours.

It is easy to see the influence of artists in this spring’s styles and colours. In particular the styles of Matisse and Picasso shine through. The destinations of Cuba, the Caribbean and South America come to mind as designers play with vibrant colours that are combined with relaxing, classic and more natural tones.

For Spring 2016, there are no colours only for women or only for men.

The Trending Colours for Spring 2016

Rose Quartz PANTONE 13-1520

The soothing colours are led by Rose Quartz, which is a Pantone colour as well as a semi-precious gemstone. Rose Quartz represents compassion and a sense of composure. Like a serene sunset, flushed cheek or budding flower, Rose Quartz reminds us to reflect on our surroundings during the busy but lighthearted spring and summer months.

Peach Echo PANTONE 16-1548

Shades of orange are well established and this spring’s variant is Peach Echo, a shade that emanates friendlier qualities, evoking warmth and accessibility. It is an all-encompassing, tempered companion in the playful orange family.
